We filed Bill's opening brief with the Seventh Circuit. None of the more than
50 people/groups I contacted have taken any steps to file an amicus brief.
Yesterday I received word from the Seventh Circuit that they denied our motion to
dismiss the government's cross-appeal. Our next step will be to contact the
three people who moved to intervene in the district court case to see if they want
to attempt to intervene in the appellate case. If so, we will file a motion to intervene.
If that is denied, we will again seek amicus briefs on behalf of the three people.
The government's combined response to our opening brief and their opening brief
on their cross-appeal is due May 12th. Our reply to the government's filing
is due June 11th. The government's reply to our response to their cross appeal
is due June 25th.
